Automation and Robotics Center
The Smart Automation and Robotics Center will connect businesses and individuals in the Cedar Valley region to the latest in manufacturing and automation technologies, top industry-recognized training, and certifications to help attract, grow, and retain a skilled workforce.
Hawkeye is taking training to the next level by being the first in the state to implement a fully connected systems training environment. Rather than providing systems focused on individual pieces, the center will provide hands-on training with a seamless system in which all the parts work together, just like learners will face on the job.
The center will allow learners to gain real, relevant Industry 4.0 skills and experience. This groundbreaking approach to teaching includes a multi-station automated manufacturing system that integrates mechatronics, robotics, conveyors, automated mobile robots, and a variety of other technologies.
What is Industry 4.0?
At its core, Industry 4.0 is characterized by industries combining the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) with cyber-physical systems and advanced automation technologies to bring improvements in industrial efficiency and productivity.
Why train with us?
-
All curriculum is module based and can be stacked for the attainment of industry-recognized credentials from recognized leaders including FANUC, Rockwell, and the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) or can be customized by individual companies for training specific job skills pertinent to their own workforce.
-
Each module or specific skill requires demonstration of competency — this means that individual students can work through modules or skills at their own pace. Gone are the days of training being delivered based on seat time or for all students to comprehend the information at the same pace. As students demonstrate competency, they can move more quickly or slowly depending on their understanding of the material at hand. Competencies can be demonstrated at any time the center is open utilizing the open lab concept.
-
With the competency-based model and customizable training, some individuals may complete training programs faster than the current time-based program.
